Two murder convicts hanged in Haripur, Faisalabad

HARIPUR/FAISALABAD (92 News) - Two death row convicts were executed in Haripur and Faisalabad jails early Thursday morning. As per details, death row convict Shahid Shafiq was hanged in District Jail Faisalabad for killing his aunt in 1996 over a domestic dispute. Also, Gul Muhammad was hanged in the Central Jail Haripur. He was convicted of murder by an anti-terrorist court in Mardan. Pakistan lifted the de-facto moratorium on death penalty on December 17 last year, a day after Taliban gunmen attacked a school in Peshawar killing 134 students and 19 adults.
