FEROZWALA (92 News) – Two schoolgirls were killed and eight others injured when a van collided with a Lahore-bound train in Ferozewala on Tuesday.

Ravi Express was coming from Shorkot when it collided with the van at an unmanned crossing.

According to the Railway spokesperson, the accident happened due to the fault of the van driver at Jaranwala-Sheikhupura section. The deseased include Naureen and Misbah. The Rescue 1122 staff and locals shifted the injured to Sheikhupura DHQ Hospital. The condition of three students is said to be critical.

After the accident, the track was cleared and the train was allowed to depart.

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar has demanded a report from the administration about the tragic incident. Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmeen Rashid directed the Sheikhupura CEO to provide the best medical facilities to the injured.
