KARACHI (92 News) - Three terrorists were killed in a botched attack on the Karachi Police Headquarters on Friday night.

Four people, including a Rangers and police officer, were martyred while 19 officers and constables injured in the firing of the terrorists. Later, security forces, including the Pak Army, Rangers, SSU commandoes and police, successfully launched the operation to clear the building of terrorists.

All the three terrorists have been identified. Two of them belong to North Waziristan while another was a resident of Lakki Marwat. They were identified through the NADRA record.

Two terrorists were killed in an exchange of fire with the security forces while another blew himself up on the fourth storey. Two suicide jackets, eight hand grenades and three grand launcher were found in a dysfunctional state.

The terrorists were wearing police uniform and suicide jackets. They also lobbed hand grenades on the policemen.

Meanwhile, funeral for martyred Rangers and police officers was held. Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Karachi corps commander, DG Rangers and high-ranking officers attended the funeral.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah shared sympathies with the bereaved families. "The government will take care of the family of each martyr in every respect," he added.

He also visited the police officer after the completion of the operation. "Jawans saved the nation from a big tragedy after sacrificing their lives. We will determine our fault," he added.
