UAE rolls back payment of US$2 billion: FM Qureshi

ABU DHABI (92 News) – Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi called on United Arab Emirates Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan during his visit on Monday.

They discussed expanding ties between both countries in diverse fields, including trade, investment, infrastructure dev, energy, technology and human resource development.

The two also exchanged views on the regional political situation.

FM Qureshi said thanked the UAE for aiding diaspora, particularly the workforce, during the challenging times of the COVID19 pandemic.

He lauded the United Arab Emirates' consistent support to Pakistan and welcomed the announcement of rolling back payment of USD 2 billion, which symbolizes the depth and strength of bilateral ties.

He also expressed Pakistan's enthusiasm for participation in the Expo 2020 Dubai as it would provide an excellent opportunity to showcase Pakistan's history, geographical importance, culture and opportunities for trade and investment through the Pakistan pavilion.

Meanwhile, FM Shah Mahmood Qureshi will leave for Iran in the second phase of his visit where he will call on his Iranian counterpart Javad Zarif.
