WASHINGTON (92 News) – US State Department spokeswoman Elizabeth Trudeau has on Friday said that Pakistan and Afghanistan should work together to prevent violence and extremism. Addressing a press briefing, she said that the US encourages Pakistan and Afghanistan to increase cooperation to counter terrorism. Trudeau drew the attention to what Pakistan Army Chief General Raheel Sharif had said that they do not discriminate. She stressed on the need for Pakistan to not differentiate between terror groups based on their agenda or affiliation, asking it to ensure there are no safe havens for terrorists in the country. The spokeswoman said that it would be early to say anything regarding who was involved in the terrorist attack on the American University of Afghanistan in Kabul.
