LONDON (Web Desk) A United Kingdom (UK) High Court has ordered retired Pakistan Army officer and YouTuber Major (retd) Adil Raja to pay £6,100 in legal costs in an ongoing defamation case brought against him by Brigadier (retd) Rashid Naseer.
The order was issued during a half-day hearing before Master Davison on Wednesday, which dealt with procedural matters ahead of a full trial scheduled for July.
The court reviewed three applications: Raja’s request to allow remote testimony from his witnesses, which the judge approved in principle; a withdrawn application for anonymity of a military witness, with costs deferred; and Naseer’s application for payment of legal costs related to a previous ruling, which the judge granted.
Raja, who has already paid £23,000 in earlier court-ordered costs, must now pay the additional amount within 14 days. He later described the outcome as “two to one” in his favour, citing approvals for remote testimony and deferred cost rulings.
The defamation trial, centred on statements made by Raja online, is set to proceed later this summer.
