UK lauds Pakistan’s efforts for peace in region

RAWALPINDI (92 News) – The United Kingdom (UK) has appreciated Pakistan's efforts for peace and stability in the region. The expression was made by Deputy National Security Advisor to UK Prime Minister Christian Turner at a meeting with Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa in Rawalpindi on Wednesday (today). According to the Inter-Service Public Relation (ISPR), both the sides discussed matters of mutual interest, including bilateral security cooperation and overall regional situation. Earlier today, Under directions from Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, two cancer patients’ desire to become soldiers of Pak Army was fulfilled.
According to the ISPR, Javeria Alam, 13, and Ruba Rafique, 15, had expressed their wish to become soldiers of Pak Army. On the orders of COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Corps Commander Lahore Majid Ehsan met the girls and fulfilled their wish to become soldiers. Javeria and Ruba laid a floral wreath at the Yadgar-e-Shuhda and offered Fateha. Later, both girls visited Army Museum.
COAS, Chinese ambassador discuss matters of mutual interest
A day earlier, Ambassador of China to Pakistan Yao Jing called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa in Rawalpindi today (Tuesday). According to ISPR, matters of mutual interest were discussed during the meeting.
COAS says focused to achieve stable, peaceful country
Earlier,  COAS Bajwa has reiterated that Pakistan is focused and determined to achieve a stable, peaceful and normalized country.

He was addressing participants of the 4th Pakistan-UK Stabilization Conference at National Defence University (NDU) in Islamabad on Tuesday.

While interacting with participants, General Bajwa focused on internal and external security situation of the country and his vision of an enduring peace within Pakistan and the region. He also highlighted prospects of Geo-political environment, security challenges and CPEC towards economic development of the region. Later, Commander UK Field Army Lieutenant General Patrick Sanders called on General Qamar Javed Bajwa and discussed regional security issues and matters of professional interest with him. Earlier on his arrival, NDU President Lt Gen Aamer Riaz welcomed the COAS.
