UK PM Boris Johnson lauds PM Imran Khan's steps with regard to environmental change

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has lauded the steps taken by Prime Minister Imran Khan for environmental change.

He was addressing a ceremony on the International Environment Day on Saturday. He appreciated Prime Minister Imran Khan's mega project of planting 10 billion trees. "It is a huge campaign for forestation," he added.

Chinese President Xi Jinping, whose message was read out by Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong, expressed the resolve to continue the Environment Protection Project.

He appreciated the steps taken by Pakistan to cope with the climate change. "China is ready to work with Pakistan and other countries to inject new impetus into global environmental governance and contribute to a clean and beautiful world," he declared.

UN Secretary General António Guterres said that these next 10 years are their final chance to avert a climate catastrophe, turn back the deadly tide of pollution and end species loss. "We will have to jointly work to improve our future," he added.

He said that they should finally make peace with nature and secure a better future for all.
