Ulema meet Sri Lankan high commissioner, offer condolences on citizen's murder

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – A delegation of Ulema called on Sri Lankan High Commissioner Mohan Vijay Vikrama at High Commission on Tuesday.

They offered condolences on the murder of Sri Lankan citizen Pyriantha Kumara. They announced to observe Friday as 'Youm-e-Mazammat'.

Speaking on the occasion, Sri Lankan High Commissioner Mohan Vijay Vikrama said that the reaction of the people and the Pakistan government to the incident is laudable. "We are satisfied with the action taken so far," he added.

The Sri Lankan high commissioner and Ulema demanded to pay compensation to the bereaved family. "The Sialkot tragedy will not affect the relations between both countries," he maintained.

Mufti Taqi Usmani said that the Sialkot tragedy had jolted the nation and the culprits should be awarded exemplary punishment.

Allama Saji Mir said that they expressed sympathies with the bereaved family and solidarity with the friendly country Sri Lanka.
