NEW YORK (92 News) – The United Nations (UN) has appealed for a ceasefire in world’s conflict zones including at the Line of Control (LoC) in the disputed Jammu and Kashmir region. During his regular press briefing in New York, UN Secretary General spokesman Stephane Dujarric said that Secretary-General Antonio Guterres' recent appeal for a ceasefire in world's conflict zones also applies to the LoC in the disputed state of Jammu and Kashmir. He said there is no region in the world, in which the secretary-general’s call for global ceasefire does not apply. It is pertinent to mention here that the India has been repeatedly violating the ceasefire causing casualties and damages on the Pakistani side. Earlier, the UN chief had urged warring parties across the world to lay down their weapons in support of the bigger battle against novel coronavirus COVID-19.
