LONDON (92 News) – Pakistan’s former envoy at UN Maleeha Lodhi called on ailing former prime minister Nawaz Sharif at his residence Avenfield House in London on Wednesday. The former special representative in UN inquired about Nawaz Sharif’s health and wished him recovery. She offered condolences to Nawaz over the death of Kulsoom who succumbed to cancer here at the Harley Street in September 2018. During the meeting, the important matters were also discussed. Maleeha Lodhi arrived at the Avenfield apartments and stayed inside for about an hour. The former UN ambassador was picked by Nawaz Sharif’s driver on the way out from Avenfield flats and dropped to her place in central London. Afghanistan former president Hamid Karzai inquired after the health of former premier Nawaz Sharif, who is on a four-week bail, at Park Lane Flats on Saturday. Afghanistan Ambassador to UK Tayyab Jawad was also accompanied him. The meeting continued for some time. On January 4, the medical board appointed by the Punjab Health Department had declared the reports of Mian Nawaz Sharif as old. Sources said that the reports had been attached to the application by Nawaz Sharif for extension his stay abroad on medical grounds. The medical board has demanded the Jan 2 reports. The recommendations of the medical board have been sent to the Punjab Home Department. It said that the medical report can only be issued on the provision of new medical boards. The Punjab Home Department will write a letter to Nawaz Sharif for new medical reports. On December 30, former premier Nawaz Sharif had undergone a medical check-up at London’s Royal Brampton Hospital. Talking to the media outside hospital, Hussain Nawaz said that complete blood samples of Nawaz Sharif were taken in hospital. “Moreover, complete heart check-up of Nawaz Sharif was also conducted. Doctors have expressed grave concern about the health of Nawaz Sharif,” he said. Hussain Nawaz said that his father is suffering from severe heart disease for time being. He said that Nawaz Sharif’s more tests would be conducted after the vacations of the new year. Ijaz Gull, Nasir Butt and Dr Adnan also accompanied Mian Nawaz Sharif in hospital.
