UN Security Council passes resolution on providing humanitarian aid to Afghanistan
NEW YORK (92 News) – United Nations Security Council has passed resolution on providing humanitarian aid to Afghanistan.
In a meeting of OIC Council of Ministers US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said, "We are grateful to Pakistan for hosting the OIC Summit and invite the international community to continue to support the Afghan people."
Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the United Nations Munir Akram has said that legal complications with aid to Afghanistan are over. “Frozen accounts will be restored. The money raised for aid to Afghanistan will be paid immediately.”
On the other hand, US envoy Thomas West shared a message on Twitter, he said: “Today @USTreasury released 3 new General Licenses to address the hum crisis in Afghanistan. The GLs expand on existing authorizations to enable IOs & response orgs to deliver broader forms of life-saving assistance & other support (e.g. education, non-commercial development).
