UN Secy Gen expresses concern over situation at LoC

NEW YORK (92 News) – The United Nations Secretary General António Guterres while expressing concern over situation at Line of Control (LoC) has called for talks between Pakistan and India. Addressing a news briefing in New York, the United Nations Secretary General Spokesman Stephane Dujarric said that Antonio Guterres has expressed concern over firing incidents at Line of Control (LoC) and the Working Boundary and is following the situation. He said the UN encourages Pakistan and India to resolve the issue through dialogues. The spokesman also said the UN chief stands ready to mediate peace talks between Pakistan and India. He said as a matter of principle, the secretary-general's good offices is always available but the two sides must agree to his mediation.
