Unannounced Load Shedding Case: NEPRA allowed to take action against K-Electric
KARACHI (92 News) – The Sindh High Court (SHC) has on Tuesday allowed National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) to take action against K-Electric.
A two-member bench of the Sindh High Court (SHC) while announcing the verdict in unannounced load shedding case ordered the NEPRA to take legal action against K-Electric.
The court also ordered the K-Electric to ensure implementation on the NEPRA’s March 2016 orders. The NEPRA had declared the load shedding on area levels illegal.
The petitioner had said that K-Electric is making prolonged and unannounced load shedding in Karachi and adjoining areas.
The petitioner requested the court to bound K-Electric for providing electricity according to the law.
On the other hand, the counsel of K-Electric said that the agency is facing shortage of 600megawatt.
