Unemployment to further increase by 4.8 percent in Pakistan, predicts IMF
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Friday predicted that unemployment can further increase by 4.8 percent in Pakistan.
According to a report on revival of economies, the inflation will continue to increase by 8.5 percent in Pakistan. The current account deficit will increase from 0.6 percent to 3.1 percent.
The real growth rate will increase from 3.9 percent to four percent.
"The Covid-19 pressure on the economy will continue to increase and Pakistan will be considered as country burdened by loans. The overall growth rate during the next year will remain at 3.1 percent," the report said.
