UNICEF, Shifa Foundation join hands for humanitarian responses

KARACHI (92 News) – Humanitarian Response in Sindh Province for COVID and Flood Rain Emergency, a UNICEF-funded project, is widely facilitating the needy segment of the society badly affected by the pandemic and the recent flood situation in the province.

Shifa Foundation (SF) as an implementing partner of the project is working in Karachi, Hyderabad, Sujawal, Sukkur and Dadu. Different interventions through SF are successfully being done in the communities and [assigned] health facilities.

Talking to the media, Kashif Shamim Siddiqui, a representative of SF, said that Shifa Foundation is committed to serving the vulnerable communities while different projects are being implemented through the organization and a large number of poor people are benefitting from them.

“In Karachi, three health facilities are being facilitated through this UNICEF-funded project. Exclusive awareness sessions on COVID-19, installation of hand washing stations, and construction work pertaining to Water, Sanitation and Hygiene are the hallmarks of the project,” he concluded.
