WASHINGTON (92 News) - US State Department Spokesperson Ned Price has said that United States wants to see Pakistan stable and economically strong.

In a news briefing, Ned Price said that US would continue to work with its partner. “I want Pakistan to be economically strong. Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Antony Blinken discussed the economic situation.”

The US spokesman declined to comment on a possible meeting between the US ambassador to Pakistan and Imran Khan, saying such meetings were normal.

Earlier, Ned Price had said that Pakistan is an important stakeholder and the US is looking forward to continuing the work that has the potential to promote peace and prosperity in Pakistan and throughout the region. “For almost 75 years the US relationship with Pakistan has been a vital one. We look forward to continuing that work with the new government in Pakistan across regional and international issues. This is work that has the potential to promote peace and prosperity in Pakistan and throughout the region.”
