Urea shortage impossible in Pakistan, claims Khusro Bakhtiar

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Federal Minister for Industries and Production Khusro Bakhtiar has claimed that the shortage of Urea in Pakistan is impossible.

Addressing a press conference on Friday, he said that artificial shortage of Urea is being created. "Prices have gone up due to smuggling. Now the a Urea bag is available at Rs1,800," he maintained.

He said that unluckily hoarders are benefitting from the situation. "Farmers should not worry as they will get an additional quantity of Urea," he maintained.

The minister said that the government is giving a subsidy of Rs 400 billion to farmers. "There will be an ample quantity of Urea in Pakistan in February and March," he added.

He said that Urea is being imported from China. "I assure the farmers that the supply will improve in 10 days," he concluded.
