US acknowledges Pakistan’s efforts to end terrorism, says Mark Toner

WASHINGTON (92 News) – US State Department Deputy Spokesperson Mark Toner has in Friday said that it is in America's interest to cooperate with Pakistan to eliminate terrorism.

At his media briefing in Washington, Mark Toner said that United States acknowledges the efforts made by Pakistan to eliminate menace of terrorism.

He expressed the US commitment to continue cooperation with Pakistan till the complete eradication of terrorism.

The spokesman further said that no country in the region has been more touched by terrorism than Pakistan. We believe it is in our vital national security interest to support Pakistan in carrying out its efforts to destroy these terrorist networks.

“We believe US security assistance to Pakistan actually contributes to their counterterrorism and counterinsurgency operations,” State Department Deputy Spokesman Mark Toner told reporters at his daily news conference on Thursday.
