US assistance will be vital in rescue and rehabilitation of flood victims: COAS Qamar Bajwa

QUETTA (92 News) - US Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, Congressmen Thomas Suozzi and Alexander N Green Congressman called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Tuesday.

During the meeting, matters of mutual interests, regional security situation and bilateral cooperation in various fields were discussed.

The visiting dignitaries expressed their grief over the devastation caused by ongoing floods in Pakistan and offered sincere condolence to the families of the victims. They offered USA’s support to the people of Pakistan at this hour of need.

The dignitaries appreciated Pakistan’s efforts for regional stability and also pledged to play their role enhancing cooperation with Pakistan at levels.

The COAS thanked for the USA’s support. "Assistance from Pakistan's global partners shall be vital in rescue/rehabilitation of the victims," he reiterated. Earlier, the US delegation also visited the flood affected areas of Sindh where they were briefed on the relief and rescue operations.

Meanwhile, Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited the flood-hit area of Usta Muhammad, Balcoshistan on Tuesday. He interacted with the flood victims and jawans busy in relief activities.
