US can play positive role in resolving Kashmir issue: PM

NEW YORK (92 News) – Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan said the US can play a positive role in resolving the Kashmir issue. Speaking to US Senator Lindsey Graham, the prime minister said Indian steps are clear threat to regional peace and stability. He also mentioned that a human tragedy is being witnessed in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IoK) due to Indian curfew in the valley. PM Khan also appreciated the role played by Graham in promoting Pak-US relations. He said the US can play a positive role in resolving the lingering Kashmir issue. Referring to Afghan issue, the premier said Pakistan wants peace in Afghanistan and hoped that Afghan Peace Process will restart soon. On the occasion, Senator Graham said Pak-US partnership is in favour of both the countries. He said Pakistan has a significance regarding reconciliation and peace process in Afghanistan.
Will fight Kashmir case at every level: PM tells Kashmiri delegation
Talking to a group of representatives Kashmiri delegation that called on him in New York, PM Imran Khan said he would become the voice of Kashmiris at every international forum. He assured that being as ambassador of Kashmiris, will fight their case at every level. The delegation apprised the prime minister of the dire situation in Occupied Kashmir. The delegation comprised Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai, Dr Ghulam Mir, Dr Khalid Qazi, Imtiaz Khan, Abdur Rauf Mir, Sardar Sarwar Khan and others. Earlier, PM Imran Khan lauded the role of Amnesty International (AI) in presenting the real state of human rights in the Occupied Kashmir and amplifying the voices of the Kashmiri population in a state of seven-week long lockdown. The premier was discussing the dire human rights and humanitarian situation in Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir with Secretary General, Amnesty International Komi Naidoo who called on him in New York. Imran Khan said efforts of AI had helped raise international community’s awareness about the continuing suffering of the Kashmiri people.
