US CENTCOM chief lauds Pak’s sacrifices in war against terror
ISLAMABAD (News) – US CENTCOM Commander General Kenneth F McKenzie’s on Monday lauded Pakistan’s sacrifices in war against terrorism.
According to the declaration issued by the US Embassy on Monday, the US CENTCOM was in Pakistan on two-day official visit.
During the visit, the US CENTCOM Commander discussed matters pertaining to Pakistan’s role in facilitating peace talks in Afghanistan.
“In his meetings, General Kenneth F McKenzie reaffirmed the US commitment to security and stability in the region,” the declaration said.
The US CENTCOM commander also expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s sacrifices in the war against terrorism and learned of the recent moves against extremist groups in Pakistan under the National Action Plan (NAP).
General McKenzie assured to provide every possible cooperation for regional peace and stability.
Commander US CENTCOM Gen Mackenzie calls on PM Imran Khan
Earlier today, Commander US CENTCOM Gen Kenneth Mackenzie called on PM Imran Khan at PM House. They discussed matters of mutual interest, including regional situation.
During the meeting, Afghanistan issue and escalating tensions between India and Pakistan were also discussed. The US commander appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in war against terrorism.Defence Minister Pervez Khattak and Secretary Foreign Affairs Tehmina Janjua were also present on the occasion.
It is to be mentioned here that US CENTCOM Commander General Kenneth F McKenzie was in Pakistan on a two-day visit during which he held meeting with Naval Chief Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi at the Naval Headquarters and deliberated on the matters pertaining to maritime security.
The Naval Chief apprised the US commander about the steps taken by Pakistan Navy to curb maritime terrorism and piracy.
General McKenzie assured to provide possible cooperation for regional peace and stability.
US CENTCOM delegation, COAS Qamar Bajwa discuss regional security
A day earlier, US delegation led by General Kenneth F McKenzie Jr, Incoming Commander US Centcom called on Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
According to a press release issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), geo-strategic environment and regional security, including Afghanistan and Pakistan-India standoff, were discussed during the meeting.
