US Consulate in Peshawar, Lahore temporarily closed, travel advisory issued to American citizens

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The United States has temporarily closed its consulates in Peshawar and Lahore, citing security concerns. In a new travel advisory issued on Wednesday, the US State Department asked all American citizens to defer unnecessary trips to Pakistan as local and foreign militant groups could target them. The State Department also warned its citizens to limit their visits to public places such as markets, restaurants and venues of protests.
