US dollar gains 78 paisa against rupee in interbank, closes at Rs301

ISLAMABAD (APP) - Pakistani rupee on Friday witnessed a 78-paisa devaluation against the US dollar in the interbank trading and closed at Rs301 against the previous day’s closing of Rs300.22.

According to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buying and selling rates of the dollar in the open market stood at Rs314.3 and Rs317.3 respectively.

The price of the Euro decreased by Rs 1.35 to close at Rs324.81 against the last day’s closing of Rs326.16, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

Meanwhile, the 100-index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) shed 79.55 points, showing negative change of 0.17 percent, closing at 47,671.22 points against 47,750.77 points the previous trading day.

On the other hand, the per tola price of 24-karat gold increased by Rs2,900 and was sold at Rs235,500 as compared to its sale at Rs.232,600 the previous day.

The price of 10 grams of 24 karat gold also increased by Rs2,486 to Rs201,903 from Rs199,417 whereas the rates of 10 gram 22 karat went up to Rs185,078 from Rs 182,799.

The price per tola silver increased by Rs50 and was sold at Rs1,850 against its sale at Rs 2,800 whereas that of 10 gram silver went up by Rs42.87 to Rs2,443.41 from Rs2,400.54. The price of gold in the international market increased by $4 to $1,919 from $1,915.
