US is not considering sanctions against Pakistan, says Mark Toner

WASHINGTON (92 News) – US State Department Spokesman Mark Toner said Wednesday that the US is not considering sanctions against Pakistan. Addressing a news briefing in Washington, he lauded Pakistan's counter-terrorism operations, adding that we have been encouraged by the steps of Pakistan against the terrorists groups on its border with Afghanistan. The State Department spokesman said that Washington will continue to work with Islamabad to increase efforts and apply more pressure on the terrorist groups. Toner said that our ultimate goal is to see peace and stability in the region, adding that the US encourages cooperation against terrorism between Pakistan and India.
