US made high-level contact two days before Russia visit: FM Qureshi

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that the United States had made a high-level contact two days before the Russia visit.

Talking to the media on Friday, he said that Pakistan had clarified it does not want to be part of any camp.

"We saw tweets of some politicians undergoing unrest. The prime minister presented Pakistan's stance with confidence. The graph of Pak-Russia relations is going up. Russia has expressed interest in installing LNG terminals at Gwadar," he maintained.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that the focus of their visit was not the Ukraine situation. "PM Imran Khan has no accounts and properties in Switzerland, London and somewhere else. Imran Khan had gone to fight the case of the country. We have multi-dimensional relations with Russia," he added.

He said that Pakistan had paid a heavy price for its partial policy.

He said that he would give a reply to Shehbaz Sharif and Bilawal Bhutto in detail in Larkana. "Our government has taken the best steps against money laundering. The FATF forum should not be used for political purpose," he added.

The minister said that they directed shifting of Pakistanis, especially students, towards the embassies.
