US mediation will benefit India: Raja Farooq tells PM Imran
February 5, 2020
MUZAFFARABAD (92 News) – Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister (PM) Raja Farooq Haider told PM Imran Khan against accepting US offer to mediate on the Kashmir issue, saying that such a move would only benefit India. Expressing solidarity with the people of Indian Occupied Kashmir (IoK) while addressing the AJK Legislative Assembly in the presence of PM Imran Khan on Kashmir Day, he stressed that an aggressive policy is required to foil New Delhi’s agenda. “All of us are backing the oppressed IoK people. US will never support our cause and only India will get benefit if it becomes mediator of the Kashmir issue. Palestine has been destroyed after mediation by the US,” the AJK premier said. Raise yourself above, begin national reconciliation, Haider asks PM Khan “As a Kashmiri I want to make a request to you. Begin national reconciliation in Pakistan. Raise yourself above everyone else and take everyone along,” he said. “You are the prime minister of the country. We respect you and have some expectations from you. Please end these fights, this has really divided the country. The West had put Pakistan in shackles which we need to remove. This can only happen when there is national unity and consensus of opinion in the country,” Raja Farooq maintained. The AJK premier said that his government was cognisant of the challenges being faced by Pakistan and was thankful that, despite the difficulties, Islamabad continued to standby the Kashmiris. “I hope you didn’t mind anything I said,” the AJK premier said as he wrapped up his address. “We are with you and will not let Pakistan’s flag come down in Kashmir.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ZKWz5AUQRQ
Not support reconciliation with corrupt
Responding to the AJK premier’s address, PM Imran Khan began his address saying he was a democrat because the history of the world had proven that democracy was the best system. He said that as far as consensus-building was concerned, he stood with the AJK premier but added that reconciliation with the corrupt was something he did not support. “One thing I want to tell the AJK parliament is that don't lose hope,” he said, adding: “Losing hope means you have lost faith in God.” Earlier, PM Imran Khan arrived in Muzaffarabad to address the special session of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly to express solidarity with the oppressed people of IoK. Upon his arrival at the helipad, AJK President Sardar Masood Khan, Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan, Speaker Legislative Assembly Shah Ghulam Qadir and other high-ranking officials accorded a warm welcome to him. Later, Prime Minister Imran Khan was given a guard of honor by a smartly turned-out contingent of AJK Police at his arrival at AJK Legislative Assembly. National anthem of Pakistan was also played on this occasion.
