US Special Envoy to Afghanistan Zalmay Khalilzad calls on PM Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Zalmay Khalilzad, the United States Special Envoy to Afghanistan, called on Prime Minister Imran Khan at PM House on Thursday. During the meeting, they discussed the matters pertaining to the Afghan peace process. The prime minister assured the US envoy of full cooperation for peace in Afghanistan. “We are in contact with all stakeholders for the Afghan peace process,” he added. He also apprised Zalmay about his meeting with US President Donald Trump. “Pakistan wants broad-based and durable ties with America. There is need to create opportunities to widen the economic ties,” he said. The prime minister said that peace in Afghanistan is in the interest of Pakistan. “Long-term peace and stability will be achieved in Afghanistan through international efforts and full support,” he observed. Prime Minister Imran Khan stressed the need for preparing a roadmap and regular intra-Afghan dialogues for the future of Afghanistan.
