US visit aimed at examining relationship with Obama administration: Tariq Fatemi

WASHINGTON (92 News) – Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Syed Tariq Fatemi has on Friday said that the aim of the visit to United States was to examine the relationships with the Obama administration's and to start better relation with the Trump administration. Addressing a news briefing in Washington on Friday, he said that he held meetings with American National Security Adviser, Think Tanks, and Policy makers which had encouraging results. The Special Assistant said that more high level delegations will visit US in the coming days. Fatemi further said that he briefed the US officials regarding the progress achieved by Pakistan in the last three years in the meetings. He said America is acknowledging Pakistan as a reliable, effective and serious partner in South Asia and the region beyond. The Special Assistant said that Pakistan seek friendly ties with all and want to build the relationship of mutual advantage with the world at-large. Commenting on Kashmir, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister said the dispute is on the agenda of the United Nation's Security Council. He said there cannot be peace and stability in the region without the resolution of this long-standing dispute. He said that the occupation forces in the held-valley have unleashed a reign of terror through its brutal and suppressive tactics. He said that the US officials lauded Pakistan’s sacrifices in the war on terror.
