Uzbek deputy PM lauds role of Pak Army in elimination of terrorism

RAWALPINDI (92 News) – Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Elyor Ganiev on Monday called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at GHQ. The Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Elyor Ganiev paid a visit to Pakistan Army headquarters, GHQ on Monday where he met with thearmy chief. In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that both high-ups exchanged views on matters of mutual interests, regional security and bilateral links between the two countries. General Bajwa said that Uzbekistan is an ally country of Pakistan and enhancement in bilateral relations will assist betterment of peace and stability situation of the region. The army chief also said that the cooperation between Islamabad and Tashkent will also empower economic stability. During the meeting, Uzbek deputy premier praised the role of Pakistani military troops in the elimination of terrorism. “Pakistan military troops played a vital role in uprooting terrorism and its efforts for the establishment of peace in the region are appreciable,” he said.

Pakistan, Uzbekistan agree on greater communication network

Pakistan and Uzbekistan have underscored need for greater communication network to realize trade potential between the two countries. The understanding came at a meeting between Prime Minister Imran Khan and Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Elyor Ganiev, in Islamabad today. They also discussed bilateral relations as well as the regional situation. Meanwhile, Pakistan and Uzbekistan have agreed to enhance the trade volume between the two countries up to 300 million dollars. This was decided during a delegation level meeting between the two sides in Islamabad today. The Pakistan side was led by Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi while the Uzbek side was headed by Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Elyor Ganiev. They exchanged views about promotion of bilateral relations and cooperation including matters pertaining to regional and global affairs. They also reviewed implementation of decisions taken between the leadership of both countries during previous meetings. Addressing the meeting, the Foreign Minister said Pakistan wants to promote its links with Central Asian countries. Uzbek Deputy Prime Minister on the occasion said his visit to Pakistan will be helpful to further strengthen bilateral relations and deepen economic partnership between the two countries.
