Video leak matter: PM summons Punjab governor, CM and speaker

LAHORE (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday summoned Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and Punjab Assembly Speaker Pervaiz Elahi to Islamabad over the video leak matter. A few days earlier, a video that went viral on Saturday, Ch Pervaiz Elahi asked Jahangir Tareen to control Ch Sarwar who will not allow the Punjab chief minister to continue. According to sources, the prime minister has called Buzdar, Sarwar and Elahi to Islamabad to discuss the matter of the video leak. The sources also said that PM Khan will hold one-to-one meetings with the three leaders and try to resolve differences between PML-Q members and Sarwar. Meanwhile, a strategy for the Senate elections will also be discussed during the meeting, the sources further said. Earlier, the video – which surfaced on Saturday – showed a meeting between Tareen, Punjab Minister for Mines and Minerals Hafiz Ammar Yasir, and PML-Q leaders Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and Federal Minister for Housing Tariq Bashir Cheema. In the video, Cheema can be heard speaking to Tareen and saying, "Sir, control Sarwar! He will not let your chief minister continue." Punjab Governor Ch Sarwar, in his statement after the video surfaced, said that Chief Minister Usman Buzdar is fully powerful and is following the vision of Imran Khan. “We are with Usman Buzdar who is working for a change in the province,” he said. On Sunday, Chaudhry Sarwar responded to the remarks of the Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) leader, caught on tape during a meeting between the party and the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) a day ago. The governor said that the PML-Q was an ally party of the PTI and such talks happened even in families. He commented on the reservations of the PML-Q that It’s no big deal and he has very good relations with the Chaudhry brothers. The Punjab governor said that if the PML-Q was nursing any grievances then the government was ready to listen. “The PTI government is transparent and all its ministers, including the Prime Minister, are open for accountability.”
