Virtual meeting of Afghanistan's neighbouring countries hosted by Pakistan held

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – A virtual meeting of Afghnaistan’s neighbouring countries hosted by Pakistan was held on Sunday.

Representatives from China, Iran, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan attended the meeting.

According to the Foreign Office spokesman, the latest situation in Afghanistan was discussed in the meeting.

Pakistan's Special Representative for Afghanistan Muhammad Sadiq chaired the meeting. Ambassador Muhammad Sadiq called for a joint strategy to address common challenges. "We need to realize the new opportunities that arise from a stable Afghanistan for all countries," he said. "A prosperous and peaceful Afghanistan will promote economic, trade, regional and people-to-people contacts."

The meeting agreed to maintain close ties between Afghanistan's neighbours.
