October 17, 2016
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Election Commission of Pakistan has on Sunday rejected the application of Opposition leader in National Assembly Syed Khurshid Shah pertaining to the extension in the date of voters verification drive. Khurshid Shah had written a letter to the ECP demanding the extension in the date of voters’ verification campaign but the ECP rejected his application and written a letter to the PPP leader. The ECP stated in its letter that the votes in Sindh, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa can be registered any time before December and the votes can be transferred any time until December. The letter further stated that the registration and transfer of votes have been banned in Punjab due to by-polls on reserved seats in local bodies.
