Voting by show of hand in Senate elections will end allegations of rigging: Rasheed

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Federal Minister for Interior Sheikh Rasheed has said that voting by show of hand in Senate elections will end allegations of rigging.

Speaking to the journalists, the interior minister announced closure of all check posts in Islamabad except Srina and Red Zone. He also mentioned that they will use modern technology for monitoring.

Sheikh Rasheed, while paying tribute to martyrs of Islamabad and Pakistan Police, said that police is most underfunded in Pakistan.

He said that police is playing a pivotal role for peace and security in the country. "Steps are being taken for capacity building of Islamabad Police," he added.

The minister said several projects including setting up of forensic lab in Islamabad are under consideration. He said efforts are afoot to make Islamabad a safe city of Pakistan.

While announcing a visit to NADRA office tomorrow, he said that Pakistani national identity card and passport should not be insulted.
