Three handed down death on five counts in Wagah Border blast case

LAHORE (92 News) – An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore on Wednesday sentenced three convicts to death on five counts in the Wagah Border blast case. The ATC announced the verdict regarding Wagah bombing case today. Announcing the verdict, the court convicted and sentenced to death five times the three facilitators of the Wagha border blast. The convicted were also given 24 times life imprisonment and fined one million rupees. The punishment was given to Haseebullah, Hussainullah and Saeed while three accused were acquitted due to doubt. The Shafiq, Ghulam Hussain and Azeem are included in the acquitted accused. ATC judge Ejaz Ahmad Buttar announced the ruling in the case in which 101 witnesses recorded their statements. Earlier on March 13, 2015, Qari Shakeel and Dr Tariq, key commanders of the banned Tehreek Taliban Pakistan (TTP), were killed in an operation launched by the Afghan forces in Nangarhar province along the Pakistan border, 92 News reported on Friday. Qari Shakeel had taken responsibility of the Wagah border blasts. The government had fixed Rs 10 million as a head money for Qari Shakeel.
