ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Tourism Wasi Shah expressed his desire to launch 'Desert Safari' on the pattern of the United Arab Emirates.

Talking exclusively to 92 News on World Tourism Day, he said that the ministry was striving to make hidden tourist resorts accessible for people to increase the revenue.

"An amount of US$11,000 is received as royalty from Mount Everest, while the K-2 royalty fee is only US$1,700. There will be no loss to tourism by increasing the amount to US$5,000," he maintained.

Wasi Shah said that Pakistan has a great potential for tourism. "We are planning insurance of mountaineers. We are facing losses due to lack of skills," he added.
