Water scarcity related cases to be fixed for next hearing: CJP

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar on Monday ordered that cases regarding water crises and construction of dams will be fixed for hearing in the coming week. Chief Justice Saqib Nisar was hearing the case regarding water scarcity and dam construction at the Supreme Court. During the hearing, Justice Sardar Tariq remarked that no political party gave the priority to solve the water crisis and construction of dams. The apex court ordered that all the cases regarding water crises and construction of dams will be fixed for hearing in the coming week. The chief justice remarked that scarcity of water is the biggest crisis for Pakistan. He said that India made Kishanganga Dam in previous days and River Neelum will dry up due to this dam. “I have said many times that water issues are extremely serious,” the CJP said. “If we can’t give water to our children, we can’t give them anything,” he added.
