WBC silver title winner Muhammad Waseem accorded rousing welcome

KARACHI (92 News) – National boxer Muhammad Waseem, who won the WBC silver title, was accorded a rousing welcome on his arrival at Karachi Airport on Monday.

Muhammad Waseem had defeated the Colombian boxer in the flyweight category in Dubai. He also set a record by winning 13 bouts.

Talking to the media, Muhammad Waseem said that he was the first boxer who won the title. "I will try to defend the WBC title in Pakistan before Ramazanul Mubarik."

He demanded that the government should take steps to promote games. "I was trained in Dubai and Scotland. There is an acute shortage of sponsorship in the country. For this reason. new boxers are not coming in the field," he added.

Muhammad Waseem attributed the title to the Kashmiri brothers.
