We admit that poor man is going through a difficult time: Musadik Malik

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Minister of State for Petroleum Musadik Malik has said that they admit that the poor man is going through a difficult time.

Talking to the media on Thursday, he said that the government had fought with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for four months for the poor man. "Owing to the depreciation of the rupee, we are forced to buy expensive oil. Before leaving, Imran Khan gave a subsidy on petrol and as a result, the country was bankrupted," he added.

The minister was of the view that the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) will have to be accountable for the gas theft. "The burden of the gas theft falls is on the poor man, while the rich man is spared," he maintained.

Musadik Malik said that the supply of subsidized oil will start from March under an agreement with Russia.
