We are further strengthening our old relations with Uzbekistan: PM Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that they are further strengthening the old relations with Uzbekistan.

Addressing a joint press conference with Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on Thursday, he said that bilateral trade between both countries has increased by 50 percent in a year. "Pakistan and Uzbekistan have a common stance on Islamophobia. We will have to jointly work for restoration of the frozen assets of Afghanistan," he declared.

 

The prime minister said that Afghanistan will benefit from the relations between Pakistan and Uzbekistan. "We have decided to resume direct flights between the two countries that will not only improve connectivity but will help promote tourism and trade."

He said that Pakistan and Uzbekistan will produce a movie on Mughal Emperor Zaheeruddin Babar. "Both countries will work for the restoration of cultural sectors," he added.

PM Imran Khan said that international laws are being violated in the Occupied Kashmir. "The international community should work for ending atrocities in the Occupied Valley," he declared.

Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan held a one-on-one meeting with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The two countries signed different Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs), including strategic partnership and preferential trade agreement.

Others agreements include cooperation in the field television and radio, promotion of pilgrimage tourism, cooperation in the field of environment and climate change, action plan of practical measures in the field of security and cooperation in railways.
