We have introduced new schemes for SMEs, says SBP Governor Reza Baqir

MULTAN (92 News) – Governor State Bank Governor Dr Reza Baqir has said that they have introduced new schemes for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

Talking to the media on Tuesday, he said that State Bank of Pakistan wants the businesses of masses to progress. “Prosperity will come with an increase in businesses. We want to increase financing in the agriculture sector. It is our obligation to support farmers across country.”

The governor said that the Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry had set an example for other chambers. "During the COVID-19 pandemic, all chambers held their meetings. We have initiated new schemes. First of all, we have to come to Multan. Under one scheme, hospitals were given Rs1 billion during the Covid-19 pandemic. We have very pleasant experiences with Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry," he maintained.

Reza Baqir said, "Under the 'Assan Finance Scheme', businessmen are being loans up to nine percent. Eight banks of the country are associated with the SBP in this scheme. SMEs will join hands with the SBP to make the scheme successful. For bringing betterment in the economy system, we have to increase the business activities in the country.”
