We have to set basics aright to win 2nd Test, says Misbah

DHAKA – Pakistan Test captain Misbahul Haq said on Tuesday he was not surprised at how Bangladesh have managed to remain on a roll and give nothing away. Talking to media, Misbah said the way Bangladesh adjusted and performed in the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand showed they had improved as a side, tough opponent at home conditions. “The way their batsmen performed in the 1st Test should be given credit. We cannot just think about what is happening or what sort of pressure is on us or our opponents. We have to do the basics right and go for a win in the 2nd Test,” the skipper said. He said he feels his bowlers might have something more from the Dhaka pitch. "The Dhaka pitch I think would have a bit more bounce and turn as well, and I think our bowlers will be able to get something more out of the pitch and get a positive result out of the match." Misbah asked for his bowling unit to give a better show in the second Test, reminding all how his team went from a near-300 lead to suffer from a record 312 partnership between the Bangladesh openers on day 4 and 5 combined. "Tamim is in great form. We had plans against him even before the Test series, but he seemed to get out of it really well till now. We obviously have plans on stopping him in the 2nd Test," Misbah added. – Web Desk
