We ourselves will decide our future if India revoked Article 370: Mehbooba Mufti
March 31, 2019
SRINAGAR (92 News) – Occupied Kashmir former puppet chief minister Mehbooba Mufti has warned that they themselves will decide their future if the Indian government revoked Article 370. Criticizing the statement of Indian Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Mehbooba Mufti said that the relationship between India and the Occupied Valley would be over if Article 370 of the Constitution scrapped. "Jaitley must understand this. It is not an easy thing to say. If you scrap (Article) 370, your relation with the Occupied Valley will be over," said Mehbooba. On Thursday, Jaitley had advocated the repeal of Jammu and Kashmir's special status, saying Article 35A, which restricts non-permanent residents to buy property in Occupied Valley, is constitutionally vulnerable and also hampering economic development. The former puppet CM said that Article 370 was a bridge between India and the Occupied Valley and if the special provision of the Constitution was revoked, then New Delhi would have to renegotiate its relationship with Occupied Valley. "Because if you have given us a special status in the Constitution of India and you break that status, then we will have to rethink whether we would even want to stay with you without conditions," she said.
Pakistan defeated India in war of information: Indian ex-general
Earlier, Indian Lt Gen (retd) Ata Hasnain, former Corps Commander Northern Command, admitted that Pakistan won the war of information. Addressing a British think-tank at Institute of Strategic Studies on Thursday, he said that the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) had defeated India in the information field. “We learnt from the ISPR how to play with information,” he said. “The period of a traditional war is over. It is the era of a hybrid war which uses the media as the biggest tool.” The Indian former general was of the view everyone knows about the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), but no one knows about the ISPR. “The ISPR estranged the Kashmiris from the Indian Army with an excellent strategy. In addition, it distanced the Indian nation from its army,” observed Indian Lt Gen (retd) Ata Hasnain. He was of the view that funerals being taken out in Occupied Kashmir are a result of an increase in militancy. “Independence is resounding in the entire Occupied Kashmir. The use of power is not a solution to the Kashmir issue,” he said. He said that the Kashmiris are taking up the arms due to the faulty policies of the Indian government. Indian Lt Gen (retd) Ata Hasnain said that there was strong possibility of the Pulwama incident in Occupied Kashmir if blasts could occur in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
