We will request Chinese govt to make KCR part of CPEC, says PM Shehbaz Sharif

KARACHI (92 News) - Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that they will request the Chinese government to make Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) a part of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Talking to the media along with Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Wednesday, he announced that the government will take steps to provide clean drinking water in Karachi.

"We will try our best to make Pakistan as per dream of the Quaid-e-Azam. "I have assured the Sindh chief minister that we will stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the provincial government. We have also talked about plying the air-conditioned bus service," he added.

He said that the meeting with the Sindh chief minister had been good and he was thankful to the Sindh government and Bilawal Bhutto.

Earlier, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah briefed PM Shehbaz Sharif about the BRT projects. The prime minister visited the mausoleum of the Quaid-e-Azam and offered Fateha.

Later, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited MQM Bahadarabad centre and held a meeting with the leaders. The prime minister thanked the MQM leaders for supporting in the election for the premiership.

After the meeting, PML-N Spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb said that they had discussed the development of Karachi. "However, no word was discussed about the slot of the Sindh governor."

MQM leader Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that the ministries will be settled with consultation after the implementation of the agreement. He said that projects started during the Nawaz era would continue as well as new projects would be started.
