We won’t go with those issuing anti-Army statements, says Ch Pervaiz Elahi

LAHORE (92 News) – PML-Q Punjab president Ch Pervaiz Elahi has said that they will not go with people issuing statements against Army. Addressing a general council meeting of the PML-Q on Wednesday, he expressed his reservations about the statement of PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari. He said that they would not tolerate any effort to malign the dignity and respect of the country. Ch Pervaiz Elahi said that he supports the principled stance of the army because he wants to see a strong Pakistan. PML-Q president Chaudhry Shujaat  said that the army is the defender of geographical and ideological borders of the country and political leadership should answer to India. "However, the army is doing the task of politicians." The meeting also passed a resolution in favour of Zarb-e-Azb Operation. Another resolution said that terrorism, extortion and target killing incidents have considerably reduced due to the efforts and sacrifices of the Rangers. It also demanded that the Rangers should play its role to end corruption and restore peace in Karachi.
