Weather turns pleasant in Karachi after light rain

KARACHI (92 News) – Weather turned pleasant after light rain in parts of Karachi on Monday. According to the reports, several areas of Karachi received light rain late Sunday. The downpour was reported in Malir, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, PECHS Society, Khudadad Colony, Shahra-e-Faisal, Bhittabad, Safooran Goth, Sachal Goth, North Nazimabad, Baldia Town, Gulshan-e-Ghazi and other parts of the city. Humidity was recorded at 40% while wind speed was 25km/h. Meanwhile, the MET office has predicted light showers in Karachi today. The temperature of the city was record at 31 degree centigrade early in the morning around 7. After the rain, electricity was disconnected of the various areas including Gulistan-e-Jauhar block 7, where the citizens are facing difficulties due to suspension of electricity supply from last night. On the other hand, the KE has said that the staff is working to restore electricity in the rain affected areas. This does not, however, signal the start of the second spell of monsoon rain in the city. The Meteorological Department has said that spell will start on July 17 but heavy rain won’t hit the city until July 20 at the earliest. Karachi saw its first spell on monsoon rain last week. Power outages began as soon as the first drops of rain fell and at least five people died in rain-related electrocutions.
