ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that a Sufi saint attracted him to the religion. He was addressing a two-day international Rehmatal-Lil-Aalameen Conference, titled ‘Finality of Prophethood and Responsibilities of Muslims in light of the Teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH)’ at Jinnah Convention Centre, Islamabad on Tuesday. He said that he would have neither established a cancer hospital nor become a politician if his path was not changed. “A welfare state is created due to a sense of feeling and mercy,” he maintained. The prime minister said that no one could hurt the sentiments of anyone in the name of the freedom of expression. “A wish this function should be held annually on Eid Miladun Nabi (SAW),” he said. He said that they will raise the image of the country by changing their character. “Islam spread in the subcontinent through saints. After the state of Madina, Pakistan was the only country that was established in the name of Islam,” he added. Islamic scholars from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Egypt, Afghanistan, Syria, Morocco and the United Kingdom also participated in the event. Cash awards and certificates were also given to 53 authors, whose books or articles were selected after a due process in nine categories. These categories are Seerat and Naat Books in Urdu, English, Arabic, and regional languages of Pakistan.
