LAHORE (92 News) - Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhary Parvez Elahi has said that what happened to the cursed Salman Rushdie is an outcome of his blasphemous act.

In a message on Saturday, he said that blasphemy is intolerable for each Muslim. "The cursed Rushdie's Satanic act badly hurt the sentiments of the Muslims," he added.

The chief minister said that they can sacrifice their lives for the sacred personality of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). "Rushdie became a tool in the hands of the negative forces that hatch conspiracies to spread anarchy in the name of the religion," he added.

Chaudhary Parvez Elahi said that love and respect for the Khatamun Nabiyeen Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) is an integral part of the faith of each Muslim. "It is impossible to describe the holy personality of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) in words. He became an example for the world by virtue of his highest character and way of life," he maintained.

He said that no civilized society can think of blasphemy. "Blasphemy under the cover of freedom of expression will not be tolerated," he declared.
