Which science or astronomy book determines lunar date by size of moon, asks Mufti Muneeb

KARACHI (92 News) – Responding to Minister for Science Fawad Chaudhry, Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman Mufti Muhammad Muneebur Rehman has asked that which science or book of astronomy determines lunar date by the size of moon. Mufti Muneeb has stressed that it was first-day crescent according to both science and religion. He also termed that Fawad Chaudhry is portraying himself as an expert of science which is only his ignorance. “His only work is to mock the religion,” he added. Earlier, Fawad Chaudhry said that the moon has been sighted from a scientific point of view.  Reacting to the sighting of Zilhaj moon, Fawad Chaudhry also said that the moon has been born scientifically, if there were clouds, how the moon could be sighted. “They said that the moon was not visible due to the clouds. If there are clouds, how will the moon be visible,” the minister maintained. He alos mentioned that technology is ‘halal’ or ‘haraam’ scholars should decide this first, prayers can be offered by looking at the clock, then why the moon cannot be sighted by technology.
