July 27, 2015
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The talks between the government and traders on withholding tax on bank transactions failed on Monday. The government rejected to end the withholding tax. Traders have convened a countrywide convention on Tuesday. Final decision on the shutter-down strike on August 5 will be made later on. Speaking on the occasion, Federal Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar said that the traders’ problems will be resolved mutually. He said that the government had accepted the demands of traders. “The government is facing acute financial difficulties. We will resume talks with the traders tomorrow,” he maintained.
